We wanted to really lean into the comic book aesthetic for this eye catching 2 piece playmat, and Mile absolutely nailed the look!
We're experimenting with what to put into the speech bubble in the middle, but it'll be a collection of catch phrases by all of the characters in their native language. Taking suggestions in the comments!
The boss boards will be illustrated by FUNNYMNKY as announced in the previous update and the first boss board is looking absolutely SICK.
Box Art Reveal!
The box render on the kickstarter page was actually a mock up that used our convention backdrop banner design.
For the actual box, it will be a 330 x 330mm square box that is 195mm tall in order to store each of the character tuckboxes vertically as well as the fully assembled marble tower so that you don't need to take the tower apart between games.
This will make the box basically the same foot print in size as Re;ACT - The Arts of War, just about 80% thicker. Stay tuned for the final box art render next month!
If you have not received a email for your pledge manager, there are 3 possible reasons:
You use Kickstarter's Pay Over Time option, which unfortunately means Backerkit's system cannot send you a pledge manager survey until 14 days after your last payment as been cleared.
You used an apple masked email, which results in a jumbled email being imported by Backerkit's. If this is the case, you'll need to simply message me here on KS or email me at [email protected] and I can update your email on the pledge manager.
The survey went to your spam folder or some other issue. You can also similarly message me or email me to get your pledge manager survey sent to you!
If you have any support questions for your pledge manager, you can reach out to Backerkit directly via the pledge manager's "support" system or just email them at [email protected]!
I will be at Gen Con this year hosting ticketed event demos. Even if you don't sign up for a event, come find me at my demo tables to get a free Re;MATCH convention ribbon! (I will not have a booth unfortunately. I've applied and gotten rejected every year, it's become a tradition at this point!)
I'll also be hosting ticketed event demos for my previous games, POND, Re;ACT, and Genshin Tarot! (Preorders forPOND and Genshin Tarot volume 2 will be shipping to customers world wide between June and July!)
My wife and I showing off my games at LVL UP Expo last month!
A busy next 3 months
Tomorrow, I'll be flying out to Momocon in Atlanta GA, then I'll be flying directly from Atlanta to Germany for Dokomi, the biggest anime convention there!
Once I come back, I'll also be going into full prep mode for Anime Expo, Offkai, Gen Con, and Anime NYC back to back to back.
Thankfully, Re;MATCH's base game contents are pretty much locked, and I'll be using Gen Con as a final stress test of the game before pressing the big red print button.
Currently the only things we need to still make for Re;MATCH's base game is the box design and the rulebook. But the 2 stretch goal characters (Cosplayer and Pilot) as well as the Boss Mode are very early in development (barely even scratched the surface!) and I won't be able to really hunker down to work on those until I finish the summer convention gauntlet.
This is why the base game will be going to print and shipping earlier. I know that might be disappointing to hear but I promise you it'll be worth the extra wait! I plan on making the Super Turbo edition really like a "special edition"~

Games By Friends!
Alpha Team Mechanized Battle Force Go!
This is a very tightly crafted hand management card game about piloting super robots to fight against a rampaging kaiju. It's 100% co-operative, with really weighty decisions, packaged in a very small and portable box with just a few dozen cards and absolutely KICK ASS art.
I playtested this game both in it's infancy and in it's developmental stages at ProtoATL over the years and the tight gameplay combined with a small box form factor is going to make this my go to backpack stuffer game.
Take the concept of a roll and write, but instead have a giant pool of dice that is rolled at the start of each round that all players must frantically grab from 1 at a time to use at their food truck, and you have what fells like the most refreshing take on Roll and Writes since their inception.
I got to playtest this game last year at Origins and it was an absolute BLAST. It completely changed how the mechanics of a roll and write was used. So much so that I don't even really consider this a roll and write game, but just a very fun simultaneous real time competitive dice allocation game that uses the mechanics of roll and write as a vehicle.

FIRST UPDATE TIME!!!
Now that the campaign is over, I've been hitting the ground running to turn Re;MATCH into a reality.
First, the pledge manager has been set up, and is now just awaiting approval and the payment to backerkit to go through. Backerkit recommends waiting at least 14 days after the end of a campaign before sending out pledge managers so that payments on Kickstarter can be properly reflected, so...
Pledge managers will be sent out on April 16th!
Re;MATCH Playmat!
After getting some requests from backers, we decided to make the 100k stretch goal not just do another deskmat design, but a unique 24 x 24 square playmat specifically designed to use when playing Re;MATCH!
This playmat will be split up into 2 pieces for easier storage, very similar to the Re;ACT playmats. If you purchase the deskmat add on, pledged the earlybird tier, or pledged the +SWAG tier, you'll be able to choose between either the 24x24 inch playmat OR the 18 x 36 inch deskmat.
There are 3 different designs for the deskmat!
Convention Schedule!
I'll be attending various conventions throughout the year, demoing Re;MATCH and selling my previous games (Re;ACT, POND, and Genshin Tarot). Come say hi and check out the game in person!
LVLUP EXPO - April 24h - Las Vegas, Nevada
All aBOARD Expo - May 28th - Quezon City, Philippines
Offkai Expo - July 24th, San Jose, California
Gen Con - July 29th, Indianapolis, Indiana
PAX Unplugged - December 4th, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
I will not be personally at All aBOARD Expo, but you'll find Re;MATCH's lead artist, PsyOptima, who lives in the Philippines there!
I also do not have a booth at Gen Con (I've applied for so many years in a row now, still no luck) but I'll be running ticketed events that you can sign up for through their events system!

Thank you so much to everyone that joined the campaign in our final days!
While we didn't break past the 500k stretch goal, I am excited about still offering the solo & co-op mode as a separate $15 expansion. (It will also be included for free in the Collector's and Super Turbo Editions).
But first, I am very excited to announce that the winner of the second stretch goal character vote was THE HAWAIIAN PILOT!
The final count was so close, with the Pilot (237) beating the Gambler (227) by ONLY TEN VOTES! While I know many are sad that we can't have ALL the characters, I definitely intend to create at least a second season of Re;MATCH, so I hope to bring them all back one day in the future~
There is alot to do to get Re;MATCH made into a real product and shipped out across the world. As a few people have asked, Re;MATCH feels nearly completed, and as far as the base game is concerned, it really is!
Standard Edition Tasks:
Formatting and designing a great rulebook
Creating a useful hard plastic insert
Designing the actual product box top and bottom
But there's quite a few new tasks that were unlocked for the Collector's and Super Turbo editions because of our stretch goals!
Collectors / Super Turbo Edition Tasks:
Design, illustrate, and playtest The Cosplayer
Design, illustrate, and playtest The Pilot
Design, illustrate, and playtest The Solo & Co-op expansion
First, the pledge manager survey should be emailed out to you all sometime next week. You can change your pledge tier, change your add ons, and fill out your shipping address in the pledge manager survey.
Second, in order to keep things moving as smoothly as possible, we will be working towards getting the standard edition finished and ready for production first while also playtesting the 2 Stretch Goal characters and the Solo & Co-op modes.
My goal is to be able to hit print on the standard edition as early as July in order to follow the original timeline of delivering Re;MATCH by December.
The stretch goal characters and the solo & co-op mode will need additional time to develop, so my goal is to have the Collector's and Super Turbo Editions hit print by November and have them ready to leave the factory by April.
Honestly, each of these artists showed so much whimsey and created art for the love of the game. In an age of the make slop button being so accessible, we were genuingly so moved to see people picking up the pen and having fun.
The Kickstarter was a major success, and it's my contest, so I can break my own rules. To celebrate these budding talents, all 4 of the contestants will receive a KS Standard edition pledge for free and with shipping included!
DON'T STOP MAKING ART!!!
FINAL HOUR OF RE;MATCH! A Solo & Co-op Mode update!!!

With over $460,000 raised and only 1 hour of the campaign left, I have decided to make a compromise for the Solo & Co-op mode since we will likely not hit 500k.
The Solo & Co-op mode will be a separate product that I will print after the Standard Edition enters production, same as the stretch goal characters, and will be included FOR FREE in the Collector's and Super Turbo Editions! (It will also be available as an $15 add on for standard edition backers)
The incredible artist FUNNYMNKY will be in charge of illustrating each of the custom Boss Boards for all playable characters! (He did this incredible Psychic fan art below!)
Thank you all SO MUCH for your support on this campaign. We literally could not have made this happen without all of you, and I'm so excited to get this game to print!
